Responding to rumors for Melbourne....
Following Joe Nader's recent statements in reference to the fight of Iron Mike Zambidis vs JWP in the Powerplay promotions "THE DESIDER" on May 2011, I would like to make the following comments in my capacity as Mike's manager.
It would have been expected from Mr. Joe Nader, before he is positioning himself on the subject matter, he should have checked whether the accusations he is responding to came from Iron Mike himself. So, Mr. Nadar is blaming Mike for statements that Mike never said so far. The only official statement Mike made after the fight in Melbourne was to thank people for their support and to say that he is looking forward to his next fight.
In any case, Mr Nadar, being the promoter, by default has to be professionally objective when it comes to commenting on rumors (true or false). Instead, he is predisposed in favor of JWP in his comments; a non expected behavior from an international promoter.
Moreover, in his comments, he publicly disclosed some of the terms of our private and confidential agreement (as all agreements are). Not only this is unprofessional, but also, it is of no interest to the public, except to those who are interested in gossip.
We do not want to go into a confrontation about impressions and rumors. Just because there are some incidents and undisputable facts and are really puzzling us. For example, JWP's right hand bandage, as depicted in published photos, is longer and much thicker that it is supposed to be (longer than the knots of the hand not adhering to the rules given by the organization). Moreover the bandage was marked by the judges up to a certain point (as again is profound in the right hand of JWP in the published pictures). What happened to the rest part that was not marked? It was added after the inspection of the judges and without their checking? Additionally in the case when Mike was supposed to be checked when he was wearing his gloves before the fight (the standard procedure before every fight that the judges are checking and signing the gloves ) and the judge erroneously refused to check and sign them... Should we suppose that neither JWP' gloves were checked...?
We have been happy to participate in this promotion in Australia, but we are wondering for these incidents, comments and behaviors during & upon the completion of the event. After all, are Mr. Nadar's comments defensive or offensive...?
Kind regards,
Tonia Fouseki, Manager of Iron Mike Zambidis.
