On 17th of September the fight of Iron Mike in Cyprus.
Mike Zambidis, travelled to Cyprus to attend the Press Conference announcing his fight against the Russian Champion, to be held in Nicosia on 17th September.
The Greek champion expressed his excitement to play in Cyprus for the first time and thanked the people of Cyprus for their support. He said that whenever he comes to Cyprus, the people's love makes him feel as if he is in Greece.
He also stated that "whenever I fight my goal is to make proud those who believe in me, I don't just fight as an athlete playing his game.''
Concerning his preparation for the fight in September, Iron Mike said that ''the preparation will last approximately one and a half month, and will start right after my summer time-out, during which I will rest psychosomatically, after 10 months of hard fighting and training. I will follow a powerful training program to be ready for the fight on September 17th, because every fight is important to me.''
During the Press Conference, the agreement for the match was signed by the Registrar General of KOM Mr Panos Georgiou and the Manager of Iron Mike, Ms Tonia Fouseki.
Moreover, Babis Papadopoulos, coach of Mike Zambidis, and Christoforos Lazaridis, President of KOM, were also present at the Press Conference.
The Muay Thai and K1 fights, will be realized under the auspice of the Cyprus Federation of Muay Thai, and will be held at the ''Lefkotheo Stadium" in Nicosia.
